I have always found movement and exercise to be mentally and physically healing, and when I realized that physical therapy utilized movement as medicine, I wanted to be a part of it! After graduating from St. Catherine University in 2021 with an applied science degree in physical therapy I worked as a clinical PTA and gym coordinator for almost 3 years. A central part of my job was educating patients and clients about chronic pain and how our central and peripheral nervous systems work, utilizing Pain Neuro Education (PNE). I found that I love educating people and I took so much joy in witnessing patients take control of their symptoms and find relief from physical limitations. I especially love working with patients and clients who, for whatever reason, have never felt welcome, comfortable, or safe in a fitness setting. I love helping people feel welcome, confident, and empowered as they become stronger and motivated in both mind and body. This is achieved by a provider and Patient/Client team in which meaningful goals are set and enjoyable studio sessions are implemented. I chose physical therapy because I strongly believe that it is a human right to be able to interact with the world to our fullest physical potential without pain or fear and I am thrilled that I get to do this as a member of the Viverant team.
