Pilates as a form of exercise emphasizes posture, flexibility, coordination and strength, with an increased awareness of breathing patterns. Specific exercises and movements can be modified to fit each person’s capabilities, made easier or more challenging with some simple adjustments. Pilates can be used as part of a Physical Therapy care plan, and one-on-one Pilates sessions with a Viverant Physical Therapist or Clinical Performance Coach are also available on a self-pay basis.
