I was introduced to the field of Physical Therapy after experiencing a sports-related injury growing up, as well as watching my grandmother improve her quality of life with participation in PT. This sparked my interest, so I attended The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology followed by my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
When treating, my philosophy is to have active patient involvement. Incorporating patient education, manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises and neuromuscular re-education for retention and independence in the patient’s recovery. I enjoy finding specific movement dysfunctions that are limiting a person’s function and treating accordingly. I am passionate on not only focusing on pain reduction, but on helping a person meet their personal goals by returning them to their optimal function and quality of life while reducing risk of re-injury.
Outside of the clinic, you will find me spending time with my family, being active outdoors (especially during the warmer months), enjoying a new hike along the North Shore or heading up north to the cabin. In the winter, we find ourselves at the hockey rink supporting my husband who is actively involved in youth hockey.
