I have wanted to be a physical therapist since I was in the seventh grade, and there is no other profession I would rather be in. Originally from Iowa, I got both my Masters and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. My clinical approach focuses on identifying movement patterns and habitual positions that contribute to pain and dysfunction, helping patients move with greater ease and confidence.
I have found that while Physical Therapy is highly effective at reducing pain and building strength, some people still struggle to translate those gains into returning to the activities that they want to do. Pilates is a powerful way to bridge that gap by developing whole-body control, coordination, and stability that more easily carries over into real-life movement. I was one of the first Physical Therapists in the US to be certified in both mat and large equipment Rehab Pilates through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in 2015. Since then, I have completed additional training in Pilates for scoliosis, osteoporosis, and hypermobility, and I regularly incorporate Pilates into my practice.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching Big 10 sports (Go Hawks!), reading cozy mysteries, and spending time with my family and pets.
