I am a native New Yorker, and received my undergraduate degree from the University of Maine, Orono where I went to play baseball but left as a letterman in swimming. To thaw out, I headed south to the University of North Carolina, Greensboro to complete my Master’s degree in Exercise Science. I enjoy coaching and motivating people of all abilities and backgrounds to achieve their own version of fitness. After meeting my wife in Colorado, we settled in Charlotte, North Carolina where I would eventually develop and run an online coaching company for endurance athletes. Missing the team atmosphere, in 2012 my family of four moved to Minnesota where we helped develop the National Endurance program for Lifetime Fitness and helped guide that program for 6 years. Though I have competed in countless triathlons including Kona, my true passion is assisting others on their journey to functional health.
When I’m not coaching, I enjoy camping with my wife and two kids, being behind the wheel or in the engine bay of my 1978 VW Bus Camper, or digging in the backyard garden.
