I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota. I have practiced physical therapy in an outpatient setting since graduating and have focused my efforts on becoming skilled in manual therapy treatment of the spine and extremities. I utilize the knowledge gained through these efforts to successfully pass my board examination and became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2007.
Living an active lifestyle (which includes keeping up with three boys), has allowed me to experience many of the same complaints I hear from patients and has confirmed my belief that patients know their bodies better than anyone else. I understand that the difference in how we respond to an injury or pain relates to the knowledge we have related to it. I believe that in order to achieve success through physical therapy, the patient must play an active role in their treatment by understanding their body and have the desire to improve. This combined with my evaluation, treatment skills, and knowledge of how the body recovers leads to successful outcomes.
My greatest satisfaction in being a physical therapist is seeing an individual return to their desired levels of function after being limited by injury.
