Peter Aggen, DPT, FAAOMPT, SCS

I graduated from Duke University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2005. I completed a residency in sports medicine at Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, WI in 2008. During my time at Gundersen, I worked extensively with high school athletes, conducting running evaluations, and instructing in the Physical Therapy program at UW–La Crosse. After my sports residency, I successfully passed the board examination to earn the title of Sports Certified Specialist (SCS).

In 2011, I completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy at the University of Illinois–Chicago. This involved extensive training in hands-on interventions for spine and extremity disorders. After successful completion of the fellowship, I was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT).

I emphasize listening to each patient, educating them about their condition, and involving them in the planning of their rehab to tailor it to their individual goals. I enjoy helping patients of all ages achieve their goals to improve their quality of life.  With my training in sports and manual therapy, I am able to analyze and treat problems from a variety of perspectives. My main interests in therapy are running analysis, upper and lower extremity injuries, vestibular disorders, return to sport preparation/testing and spine care. In addition to my work at Viverant, I provide physical therapy services for Macalester College Athletics.  Outside of work, I am an avid runner, triathlete, nordic skier, and hiker. My personal highlights include finishing the Wisconsin Ironman, Boston and Chicago Marathons, Point to La Pointe swim race, and skiing numerous Birkies.
